Begala to speak in Evansville

October 20, 2009

Paul Begala, a political analyst and former aide to President Bill Clinton, will be speaking in Evansville next month, according to the Evansville Courier-Press.

The newspaper reports that Begala will headline the Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner for the local Democratic Party on Nov. 14.

From the Courier-Press

Begala, now an affiliated professor of public policy at Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute, started consulting firm Carville & Begala with fellow Democratic strategist James Carville. After helping Clinton get elected in 1992, Begala became an adviser to the Democratic president.

Local Democratic Chairman Mark Owen said Begala should have plenty of stories from inside the Clinton White House as well as insights about the 2010 elections.

“We’re extremely pleased to be have a speaker of Paul Begala’s caliber,” Owen said. “Others in the party have said they’ve heard him speak, and he does a tremendous job.”
