Grayson planning state tour to announce candidacy for U.S. Senate

Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson plans to formally enter the 2010 U.S. Senate race next week during a two-day tour of cities around the state, including a stop in Owensboro.

Grayson will join fellow Republicans Rand Paul and Bill Johnson in their party’s primary. They are running for the seat currently held by Jim Bunning, a Southgate Republican who announced last month he would not seek a second term in office.

Announcement Tour

(Fort Mitchell, KY) – Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson unveiled today that he will make announcements in the following cities on August 26th and 27th as he formally enters the race for U.S. Senate: Ashland, Bowling Green, Edgewood, Elizabethtown, Hebron, Hopkinsville, Lexington, London, Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah, and Somerset.

“As a fifth generation Kentuckian I am honored to be formally announcing my campaign for U.S. Senate in places across the Commonwealth where I have a long history and lots of good friends,” said Grayson.

“We will be reaching out to friends, supporters and party activists to join us at each stop, and I will use this opportunity to discuss my vision for Kentucky’s future with voters.”
