Off to Fancy Farm

July 31, 2009

I’ll be heading down to far western Kentucky this afternoon to attend the Fancy Farm political picnic in Graves County, and will be providing updates here and on the Messenger-Inquirer’s Twitter at

This is my second trip to Fancy Farm, and it should be a good one this year despite it being an off-year for state elections. The announcement by U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning earlier this week is going to put the U.S. Senate candidates even more in the spotlight, and the upcoming special state Senate election in eastern Kentucky next month should also add a little charge to the crowd.

At the very least, it likely won’t be as hot, climate-wise, as it was last year.

Stay tuned, and I’ll do my best to keep you posted on what’s happening.
